For many years I have wanted to drive a NASCAR NEXTEL CUP car. I researched the listed stock car racing schools very thoroughly on the internet.

My name is Stan Unsel, and I am the Event Coordinator of "A Race Fans Dream" Stock Car Experience. My goal is to form groups of 5 or more people per trip so Special Group Rates Apply. You can Ride-along as well as drive.

I discovered that many of the schools made you follow a pace car or an instructor and passing was not allowed, your speed was limited and you were not allowed on the track with any other cars. In April of 2006 I had the pleasure of attending a Buck Baker Racing School 1/2 day Ride & Drive session at Darlington Raceway. The staff and instructors were great to work with. After a short classroom session (about 30 minutes) we were taken in a passenger van around the track to get us familiar with the exit and entrance to pit road and how to enter and exit the turns for the quickest way around the track.

We then got into the passenger seat of a race car and the instructor drove us around at race speed and showed us the line to follow to get around the track quicker. Five laps later I was driving with the instructor seated in the passenger seat and for the next five laps I was getting comfortable with the car and track. I then pulled into the pits, the instructor got out of the car and said, "Remember what I told you, now let's see what you can do". When you start that engine it is an awesome feeling. For the next 15 laps I was in control of a 600 hp stock car and from my view out the windshield it was just the very same thing that the NASCAR drivers experience at Darlington on Race Day. That's when I started "A Race Fans Dream".
