1. Participants are not
liable for damages to the car should they occur. However donations
will be accepted.
2. There must be a minimum
of 5 participants in any driving session for you to earn a complimentary
driving session. Other incentives may also be available. Any
number of participants are welcomed but may not earn any incentives
if smaller than ten. You may reschedule your date at any time.
Just call or email us as far ahead of time as possible so your
spot will be available to someone else. No shows are subject
to 100% forfeiture of all monies paid. We will be happy to work
with you on any problem however.
3. Buck Baker Driving School
has cars in different cockpit configurations and special cushions
which allow different sized riders to drive or ride comfortably.
The 5-point harness must fit securely to hold occupant into seat.
Buck Baker Driving School supplies the driving suit and helmet.
We suggest you wear tennis shoes or driving shoes if you have
them. The driving suits are very thick and hot and it is advisable
to wear something comfortable such as shorts and t-shirt under
the driving suit. There are cars that will accomodate almost
any size person, so that should not be a problem. Be advised
however, that the seats in these cars are not adjustable; they
are securely fastened to the floor. Please understand that the
car which you drive or ride in will depend on your size, so your
favorite car brand or number may not be possible in some instances.
4. Minimum age to drive
a car is 18 years old and must have a valid drivers license.
5. Minimum age for ride-along
sessions is 18 also, however under 18 is half-price and half
speed and parent or guardian must be present to sign a liability
release form. The 5-point harness must fit securely to hold occupant
into seat.
6. A reservation should
be secured at least two weeks prior to scheduled track date,
but last minute changes are acceptable.
7. These cars are 3400#,
351 cu. in. engines and have approximately 600 hp. They have
more hp than you will ever use. The cars are capable of 160+
mph at Atlanta & Charlotte (Lowe's), 150+ mph at Darlington,
135+ mph at Rockingham and Richmond and 110+ mph at Bristol.
8. An event may be cancelled
or postponed due to weather conditions but every effort will
be made to get the scheduled sessions completed. You have the
option to call ahead to reschedule if you don't want to chance
the weather.
9. You do not need any
prior racing experience but you must be a licensed driver and
be able to operate a manual 4-speed transmission.
10. Drivers and passengers
must be of safe physical health without any alcohol or ability-impairing
substances including cold medicines.
11. If you are wanting
to purchase a driving or ride-along session as a gift, you can
get a gift certificate and the date and track will be left open
for the recipient to decide. (It makes a great fathers day or
Birthday gift.)
12. Family members and
guests are welcome at every session and can go almost anywhere
drivers go including classroom sessions, but not allowed on Pit
Road beyond the wall. They may stand behind the pit wall and
watch the activities or go into the grandstands. If watching
from the grandstands however, it must be for the entire session
if walking across the track is required. Driving sessions can
not be stopped to allow anyone to cross the track, except in
emergencies.
13. You may upgrade your
driving session or purchase more laps at any time.
14. By being a part of
a full 10 or more group through "A Race Fans Dream"
you are getting special group rates and extra laps added to every
driving session. You will also get reduced rates for ride-along
sessions for a family member or friend. If you can form a group
of 10 or more members you can earn a complimentary driving session.
Other incentives may also be available.
Note: Driving any race car is dangerous
with a possibility of injury. Although the cars are built to
be safe, you too must do your part to insure your safety as well
as the safety of others. DO NOT come to the race track
under the influence of alcohol or drugs or even slightly buzzed
and expect to participate in any sessions. If any student is
in any way impaired and is considered to be a danger to any staff
member, other participants or guests, you WILL NOT be
allowed to participate and are subject to a non-refund of your
money.
